David Leyonhjelm
David is principal of Baron Strategic Services, which he established in 1989.
David has worked with most farm input suppliers, on everything from product marketing and business planning to mergers, acquisitions and divestments, plus distribution strategies.
He graduated in veterinary science from Melbourne University and spent several years in practice before moving to industry, first in a technical role and then marketing and management. He worked for Wellcome, Coopers and MSD Agvet (now Merial).
In addition to his veterinary degree he has an MBA and a degree in law.
David became well known in the rural merchandise industry because of his sometimes controversial column in Rural Business magazine that he wrote for 20 years. During that time he chronicled many changes in the industry.
He now writes commentary on agribusiness subjects for the online magazine Business Spectator.
DanieloArnaldi
Daniel joined Baron Strategic Services in 2005. He is responsible for the company's database activities, including the animal health and pet food industry pooled sales audits.
He is a Microsoft Certified Professional in Visual Basic and also has a diploma in photography.
Daniel has previously worked for IBM, Glaxo SmithKline, Optus, Kodak and Cockatoo Island Dockyard, and has also been a freelance photographer.
Michelle James
Michelle joined Baron Strategic Services in 1997.
She is responsible for management of the company's farmer and veterinary databases including liaising with rental and purchase customers.
Prior to joining the company she held a variety of administrative positions.
Amanda Downes
Amanda joined Baron Strategic Services in 2003.
She is responsible for helping to keep the company's databases up to date.
Prior to joining the company she designed and sold built-in furniture. She has also sold real estate and is qualified as a primary school teacher.
